EBC Completes Construction on First
Parish Church
NEEDHAM, MA (November 5, 2008) – Essex Builders Corp recently
completed construction of
a $2.2
Million renovation to First Parish Church of Needham, Mass. Design
and construction
focused
on utilizing high-efficiency products and features to ensure a
sustainable design, while
guaranteeing long-term cost effectiveness.
“Essex
Builders did a first-class job as general contractor for the
renovation and expansion of
First
Parish in Needham,” said John Buehrens, Minister.
The project, designed by Johnson Olney Associates, Inc. of Boston,
Mass, included; 2,500 SF
of
renovations to the chapel, additional space for the existing daycare
and a new 12,500 SF
Parish
hall which boasts energy efficient double-pane windows.
Additionally, the Parish included such conservation features as;
programmable and dimmable
high-efficiency light fixtures, programmable thermostats, dual flush
toilets, maple flooring as well
as
recycled flooring in the kitchen area. Insulation was blown into
the existing walls of the Parish
to aid
in the reduction of heating costs.

EBC Awarded New England Sinai
Hospital Renovation
STOUGHTON, MA (September 2, 2008) –
Essex Builders Corp. (EBC) has been awarded the renovation of Wing
1C of New England Sinai Hospital and Rehabilitation Center located
in Stoughton, Mass; part of The Sinai Path To Excellence program.
Demolition to doors, ceiling, wardrobes and walls began August 18th.
The project is part of Sinai’s $6 million capital campaign: On the
Path to Excellence to modernize several areas of the hospital and
expand programs and services to meet the needs of patients and
families.
“We are looking forward to
returning to New England Sinai Hospital to work on this project and
to help them achieve their goal of total modernization of two major
wings of the hospital”, said David O’Neil, President of EBC.
Phase I of the north wing modernization involves; complete updates
of all patient rooms, bathrooms, showering facilities, nurse’s
stations and patient/visitor lounges. Patients are expected to move
into the space in the end of October; when Phase II of the project
is scheduled begin.

long-term acute-care hospital with its main campus in Stoughton, MA
and inpatient satellite units at Tufts-New England Medical Center in

First Parish Church Construction
Nears Completion

Murray Court Housing Construction
Underway
HAVERHILL, MA (July 18, 2008) – Construction on the Murray Court
Housing Project in Haverhill,
Mass is underway and
scheduled to be complete October 1, 2008. The
new three-story, wood
framed building houses 21 single units will become home to elder
individuals that face
homelessness and will be ready for occupancy upon completion. The
project is owned and
operated by Emmaus Inc. also of Haverhill, architectural design
was provided by Roundel 47, LLC
of Scituate, Mass.

Essex
Builders Corp. Awarded Famous Footwear
WALPOLE,
MA (May 29, 2008) – Essex Builders Corp. of Westwood, Ma has
been awarded the interior fit-out for a new 6,300 SF Famous
Footwear store located within The Walpole Mall, Essex is also
providing core and shell work for the mall addition.
Architectural design services for both the mall expansion and
the Famous Footwear tenant improvement are being provided by BKA
Architects, Inc. of Brockton, Ma; while civil engineering and
site design services are provided by Norwood Engineering, Inc.
of Norwood, MA.

excited to be working with Famous Footwear and the mall
developer, RP Realty Partners of Alamo, California,” said David

Interior
fit-up work on the project includes; store front, flooring,
painting, fixtures and MEP scope. The current construction
schedule is working towards a fall opening for the store.

a 2,000 SF addition and renovation of the existing religious
facility. Construction will include;
reconfiguration of classrooms, improvements to accessibility,
upgrades to the electric distribution and a new heating and
cooling system for the existing 10,000 SF structure. All
trades will be involved.
